Marina Barrage

Cost: FOC :)

Description:
The Marina Barrage is another great place to visit. J loves the water playground, although sometimes the sudden spurts of water shock him and he looks to us for help. In the evening, colourful lights enhance the look of the place. When we were there, there were also people engaging in other activities like flying kites, blowing bubbles, playing with balls etc. The scenery is great and the breezes refresh us.

Plus:
Besides the water playground, there is quite a lot of land to run around. There is also an exhibition gallery which is informative and somewhat interactive.

Shortfall:
Without a car, it may not be easy to get to the barrage.

Playground at the Forum

Cost: $10 for 2 years' unlimited access

Description:
There is a small ball pit, 2 short slides, vehicles for children to paddle around in as well as tiny see saws.

Plus:
There is a simulated road where children can safely ride their vehicles on.
Most (if not all) children are accompanied by adults so the environment has appeared rather safe thus far.
As it is indoor, it is weather-proof.

Shortfall:
The playground is closed at certain times of the day for cleaning.

Fidgets

Cost: $8 for children below 2.

Description:
There is a rather big ball pit with a safe little slide which Jed absolutely loves. The little ones may also like to ride on toy vehicles within the confines of a pen or engage in activities like tying shoelaces at the activity centre.

Plus:
Older children can be entertained at the more sophisticated section which houses longer slides, tunnels and a ball washing machine.
There is also a cafe with sweet treats.

Shortfall:
There does not appear to be much supervision from the staff. We've seen older children running around at the toddlers' section, making it unsafe for the little ones.
The entrance fee also deters frequent visits.

Background

I decided to create a separate blog to list some places which babies (or my baby) seem to love. Hope this is useful to first-time parents. =)
